Editing is handheld, dialogue-driven, cut on action and shouted orders rather than long establishing masters; close two-shots in the storm give way to a tighter, lantern-lit three-hander in the captain's cabin, where blocking around the nailed-down chart table carries the exposition as physical discovery rather than speechifying. The final hook — the unflagged black launch and the father's astrolabe — lands as a doorway reveal. Costumes follow the mandated Central-Asian silhouette system (floor-length long-sleeved gowns with raised waistlines and veiled metal hair-rings for women; belted knee-length tunics, tight hose, one-shouldered caped cloaks and short swords for men; wool, linen, velvet; crimson, indigo, forest green; woven-trim and fur edging; family-crest heraldry), reinterpreted as Iberian colonial seafaring wear while keeping the mandated cuts and layering.
