The default tier is where most text work belongs; this page is the step up.
Settings → Model Preferences → Text Model. The choice applies to the three text jobs that cost credits — reading a script, writing a script with AI, and generating an episode’s storyboard — from the next task on. Translations of what you see on screen and the small helper calls do not follow it. Nothing already generated is redone by switching.
Storyboards for long or crowded episodes come back in the required format more often on the first draft, with fewer characters dropped and the sequence of shots holding together across a 30-second take. Long scripts keep their episodes. It is not a different style of writing; it is the same family with more room.
On this tier, reading a script costs 4 credits per thousand characters (a thousand equivalent characters for alphabet-based scripts, see the pricing page), a storyboard costs 1 credit per hundred characters of the episode’s share of the script, and AI writing costs 4 credits per thousand characters written. That is 100% of the base rate. Most failed tasks are refunded automatically; a few kinds of failure hold the credits until support checks the task.
The default tier is at 50%. Because the preference applies per task, you can pay this rate for one episode’s storyboard and return to the default for the rest.
An episode whose storyboard failed twice on the default; a script with dozens of scenes or a large cast; a project where every episode is long. For an ordinary series the default tier and this one produce comparable storyboards and the default is half the price.
What you may meet on this tier:
| What you see | Usual cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A long script or a dense episode fails | The reply ran past what one call can return; the site already ran it once more | The credits stay held until support checks the task. Trim the script or split it before running again |
| Storyboard generation failed | Neither of two drafts came back as a usable storyboard | Nothing was saved or charged; the credits stay held until support returns them. Regenerate, or switch tier |
| “The generation service hit a temporary problem. You weren’t charged — feel free to try again.” | The service was saturated; the site already tried again once | Try again in a few minutes |
| The storyboard came back in the wrong language | The tier ignored the language setting | The site redoes it once automatically; if it still arrives wrong, regenerate or switch tier |
To Evolving (same rate, marked Recommended in Settings) if you want the site’s suggested tier. To Qwen3.8 Max for the hardest scripts, at a higher rate. Back to the default for everything routine.

| Long scripts | Read in two passes automatically |
| Format checks | Retried once before a failure is reported |
It is twice the price. It is noticeably more reliable on long, crowded episodes and about the same on ordinary ones.
No. The preference applies per task; switch for one episode and switch back.
No. A script is read once per project; switching affects later tasks such as a storyboard.
Same rate; Evolving carries the Recommended badge. Try either for a hard episode.
Try Evolving or Qwen3.8 Max for that episode. A failed storyboard is not charged; its credits stay held until support returns them.
Switch the text tier for one episode that keeps failing, regenerate its storyboard, and switch back.
