Most questions about SceneMixer come down to three things: what a drama costs, where the credits went, and how to keep a character's face the same. Below are the questions users ask most, each answered in a few lines with the full guide linked, then the most-read guides grouped by topic. Signed in, Ask AI answers from the same guides and can look up your own credits and tasks, read-only.

Questions SceneMixer users ask most

How much does it cost to make an AI drama on SceneMixer?

SceneMixer charges in credits, and video is most of the bill: it is priced per second, from 10 credits a second on Wan 3.0 · 480P. Reading the script is charged once per project by length, each episode's storyboard once, and assembling an episode 1 credit per second. As a rough guide, a 60-second episode on the default video tier comes to about 660 credits, about $4.11 at the lowest credit price. Every button shows its price before you confirm. Can I use my own photo for a character or scene?

Yes. In step 2, open the entry and choose Upload & Replace (JPG or PNG), or drag the file onto its card. For a person, pick Optimize into a reference sheet: SceneMixer keeps the face and clothing and drops the background and lighting that would otherwise leak into every shot. On the current plan settings uploading is a membership feature, and the button says so. Full guide: Use Your Own Photo for a Character or Scene

Where did my SceneMixer credits go?

Click the balance in SceneMixer's top bar and choose View all: every task is one line, with its project, episode and amount. A line marked In progress is still holding credits, a plain line delivered and was charged, and a struck-through line tagged Refunded means those credits are back in your balance. Why does my character's face change between shots?

Usually because the shot does not link the character. SceneMixer holds a face steady with the character's reference sheet, and a shot only gets that sheet when the character appears as an @ chip in the picture text (@Mara turns to the window), not as a typed name or “the woman”. If the chip is there, check the sheet itself (plain background, face large enough), then regenerate just that segment. Full guide: My AI Character's Face Changed: A Ten-Point Checklist

How do I add a character, scene or prop to an episode?

In SceneMixer's episode editor, press Add assets: the picker lists this project's characters, scenes and items, and the one you pick joins the episode, so the @ menu offers it. To bring one over from another project, open its card in step 2 and press Pick existing; the whole entry moves over, voice included, and you can restore the original. Can I start from a novel, an idea, product photos or a video clip?

Yes. SceneMixer has four ways in: Upload Script for a screenplay or novel chapter, AI Create for a one-line idea, Ad Video for product photos, and Remake a video for a reference clip you have the rights to. All four lead to the same kind of project, with a cast, scenes, episodes and the same editor. Full guide: Four Ways to Start: a Script, an Idea, Photos or a Clip

Does SceneMixer refund a failed generation?

Yes, when nothing was delivered. A task that fails before reaching the model provider or times out upstream is refunded automatically, and so are most moderation blocks; if the outcome is unclear, SceneMixer holds the credits for review and refunds them if nothing was delivered. A clip that was delivered but is not to your taste is charged: change the shot text and regenerate only that segment. Full guide: SceneMixer Refunds: What Comes Back, What Waits, What Doesn't

What can I do on SceneMixer for free?

A new SceneMixer account starts with 50 credits. On top of that, 15 character, scene and prop sheets are free per account, the storyboard for the first episode of your first drama is free, and you get one free preview clip of up to 5 seconds. Editing text is always free; full video segments are charged from the first second. Full guide: What SceneMixer Gives You for Free

My video was blocked by moderation. What now?

The failure message gives the reason, and in most cases SceneMixer returns the credits for that attempt automatically. Descriptions count too: a sensitive phrase in a character or scene description named in the segment can trigger the block, so check those as well as the shot text. For look-alike problems (a famous character, a logo, a recognisable uniform), the message offers switching the video model in Settings. Do SceneMixer credits expire?

No. Unused SceneMixer credits carry over, including those a membership grants each month, and cancelling a plan keeps the credits already granted. Credits stay on the account that holds them: they cannot be given to a friend, and turn back into money only under the refund exceptions (duplicate charge, unusable purchase, minor). How do I cancel, upgrade or downgrade my SceneMixer plan?

Open Membership and use your plan card. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep everything until the period ends; an upgrade charges the prorated difference for the rest of the period, shown before you confirm. SceneMixer does not downgrade a running plan: let it end, then subscribe to the lower one. Full guide: Subscribe, Upgrade or Cancel a Plan: What Happens When
