Which model is best puts the text tiers next to the image and video ones.
Settings → Model Preferences → Text Model. The choice applies to the three text jobs that cost credits — reading a script, writing a script with AI, and generating an episode’s storyboard — from the next task on. Translations of what you see on screen and the small helper calls do not follow it. Nothing already generated is redone by switching.
Left alone, this is the tier you are on.
Three jobs. Reading: it turns a script into the cast, locations, props and episode outlines you approve in step 1; very long scripts are read in two passes automatically. Writing: when you give it a premise instead of a script, it writes the script in your interface language. Storyboards: it breaks an episode into segments and shots in the strict format the video tiers read.
On this tier, reading a script costs 2 credits per thousand characters (a thousand equivalent characters for alphabet-based scripts, see the pricing page), a storyboard costs 1 credit per hundred characters of the episode’s share of the script, and AI writing costs 2 credits per thousand characters written. That is 50% of the base rate. Most failed tasks are refunded automatically; a few kinds of failure hold the credits until support checks the task.
Pro and Evolving are at 100% of the base rate, twice this tier.
Scripts of ordinary length in Chinese or English, episodes with a handful of characters, storyboards where the site’s own checks pass on the first or second draft. That is most projects. The storyboard is checked for format and language before it is saved; if a draft fails, the site asks for one more automatically and only then reports a failure.
When an episode’s storyboard fails twice in a row, when a very long or unusually structured script comes back with episodes missing. Switch the preference and regenerate just that episode; nothing else is redone.
What you may meet on this tier:
| What you see | Usual cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A long script or a dense episode fails | The reply ran past what one call can return; the site already ran it once more | The credits stay held until support checks the task. Trim the script or split it before running again |
| Storyboard generation failed | Neither of two drafts came back as a usable storyboard | Nothing was saved or charged; the credits stay held until support returns them. Regenerate, or switch tier |
| “The generation service hit a temporary problem. You weren’t charged — feel free to try again.” | The service was saturated; the site already tried again once | Try again in a few minutes |
| The storyboard came back in the wrong language | The tier ignored the language setting | The site redoes it once automatically; if it still arrives wrong, regenerate or switch tier |

| Long scripts | Read in two passes automatically |
| Format checks | Retried once by the site before a failure is reported |
Only through the storyboard it writes. The video tiers render whatever storyboard you approve.
For most series, yes. Step up per episode when a storyboard keeps failing.
Tier rates follow what each tier costs to run.
No. A script is read once per project; switching affects later tasks. To use the new tier for a storyboard, switch before you regenerate it.
Only this one. The free first-episode storyboard of your first project applies when it is generated on the default tier; on any other tier that episode is charged at the tier’s rate.
Upload a script and see the cast and episodes it produces before you spend on a higher tier.
