Is AI movie maker legit?

The pages to open as you read: Pricing · Terms · Refund policy · Legal notice · Sample dramas.
1. Who runs it
Look for a legal notice that names the company behind the site, and a way to write to it. SceneMixer's Legal Notice names the operating company and where it is registered, and gives a support address; Contact lists the ways to reach it. A maker with no named operator is a maker you cannot hold to anything.
2. What it costs, before you sign up
Open the pricing page without an account. You should be able to see what a second of video costs and what the cheapest pack and plan are. Here: credit packs start at $1.49, memberships at $7.99 a month, video is 10 credits a second on the default tier, and every button shows its price before you press it. 3. What happens when a generation fails
Ask what is charged when something goes wrong. The Terms say: “Tasks failing before reaching the provider are auto-refunded; ambiguous failures are held for review, never silently charged.” Credits are held when you submit, charged when the task delivers, and returned when it fails; each task is one line in your credit history with a tag that says which. A delivered generation is charged even if you dislike it, and fixing it is a new charge. What comes back, what waits, what doesn't · When a generation fails.
4. What you can try before paying
New accounts start with 50 credits. The first 15 setup images, the storyboard for episode 1 of your first drama, one free promo cover and one 5-second preview are free; reading a script, writing one with AI and video are charged normally, and there is no free video beyond the preview. What you get for free.
5. Are the samples real?
Each sample project says how it was made: its settings, its number of episodes, and that it was produced end to end from the script. Open one, read its storyboard text, and compare it with what is on screen shot by shot. If a maker's samples cannot be traced to a script and settings, ask why. The sample dramas · Learn from a sample project.
6. What the terms say about your files and your rights
Read the sections on ownership and data. SceneMixer's Terms say you retain rights in your uploads and own the generated results to the extent permitted by law, and: “Unless you separately consent or the law requires it, we do not use your uploads or outputs to train models; upstream providers process data under their own terms (see Privacy).” Before your first upload a window asks you to confirm you have the right to use the material and that every real person whose face or voice appears has consented. Deleting a project has a seven-day window, and you can delete your account. Privacy · The seven-day window · Delete your account · What you get to keep.
7. Can you reach a person, and can you leave?
Support is by email and by the Ask window; the refund guide says replies take up to 7 business days. Card and PayPal subscriptions can be cancelled any time from the Membership page, with access until the end of the paid period. Credit packs and memberships are non-refundable except for a duplicate charge, a purchase that could not be delivered, or a purchase by a minor without a guardian's consent. Credits have no expiry unless the purchase or campaign page states one. Refund and cancellation policy · Subscribe, upgrade, cancel · Do credits expire?.
Red flags in any AI movie maker
- The price appears only after you have paid, or only per batch with no per-second figure.
- ‘Unlimited’ with no terms behind it. Why AI video unlimited plans disappeared.
- No refund page, or one that does not say what happens to a failed job.
- Samples with no settings, no script and no way to compare.
- No named operator and no contact other than a form.
- A maker that never says what it cannot do. Ours says it on each page; for example it takes no audio, draws no readable on-screen text and refuses recognisable people.
Make it in SceneMixer, start to finish
- Script: paste your own on Upload Script, or write the brief above in AI Create and let it draft the episodes.
- Step 1: Type Short Drama; Scene Style Urban Opulence; Costume Style Smart Casual; Visual Style Digital HD; Target Region; dialogue language; 9:16 Portrait. Then read the script.
- Step 2: Draw the cast and read the storyboard before you render anything; it is the cheapest way to check a maker's claims. The first 15 setup images on an account are free.
- Storyboard: generate episode 1 first (free on your first drama) and read it before you render anything. One place per segment.
- Video: render on the default tier at 10 credits a second, fix single shots instead of whole episodes, then put the episode together and post.
