What a paid plan changes lists the perks; this page is the mechanics.
Each plan card lists its monthly credits, the sitewide discount, the concurrent-task limit, storage and the perks. Pick Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly; the card shows the price per cycle and the saving. Subscribe opens the payment window: Card or wallet or PayPal, renewing automatically. The summary shows Credits per period, First charge, Next charge, and a First subscription bonus when it applies. Before you pay.

At the start of each period: the plan card shows Granted monthly, next on a date. A quarterly or yearly plan grants its credits month by month, not all at once; the first-subscription bonus, when there is one, is paid in full on day one. The credits go to the same balance as bought credits and are spent the same way. Seeing the grant in your history.
Upgrade on a higher plan shows Upgrade to … with three lines: what is charged now to your card (the prorated difference for the rest of this period), the credits added right away, and the new price from the next period. Nothing is charged until you press Confirm and pay. The higher plan starts immediately and your billing date stays the same. If the price changed while the dialog was open, it is shown again rather than charged.
Plans only go up while one is running. To move to a lower plan, let the current one end — cancel the renewal, use it to the end of the period — then subscribe to the lower one. Picking a plan of the same level is refused with a message to switch after the current one ends.
Manage subscription on the current card, then Cancel subscription and Confirm cancel. The card changes to Cancelled — usable until end of current period; nothing is refunded and nothing further is charged. Changed your mind before the period ends? Resume auto-renew on the same card puts it back without a new charge. To upgrade a cancelled plan, the upgrade resumes it in the same step. PayPal subscriptions cancel the same way.
Update payment card under Manage subscription opens the card page; only the card changes there. Plan changes and cancellation are on this site.
