How a long story is planned
| Story length | Segments (15 s / 30 s) | How to build it |
|---|---|---|
| 5 minutes | 20 / 10 | One TV Series episode |
| 10 minutes | 40 / 20 | Two TV Series episodes (up to 300 seconds each), or three Short Drama episodes |
| 20 minutes | 80 / 40 | Four to five episodes of one story |
| 30 minutes | 120 / 60 | A series of episodes or Film sequences |
Short Drama episodes run up to 240 seconds and TV Series up to 300, so a story longer than that is cut into numbered parts that share one cast. How length is built · A 5-minute video.
Make the length a story, not a stretch
- Give every part a turn. A 20-minute story as five 4-minute parts needs five small reversals, not one long middle.
- End parts on a question. It makes the next one click. Hooks and cliffhangers.
- Keep the cast small and the places few. That is what makes a long story steady and affordable.
- Let a voice carry the gaps. A voice-over line covers a time skip better than a shot.
Generate a long run without watching it
Segments render on the server, so you can queue many at once, up to your plan's limit, and close the page. When they are done, join the episode. Episodes can be storyboarded and rendered in any order, and a single weak shot is regenerated on its own. Segment versions · Why a long story stays consistent.
Where long stories are posted
A 10 to 20 minute story fits a YouTube channel; the same story cut into 1 to 3 minute parts fits Shorts and Reels in 9:16. Decide before the script is read: the format is fixed in Step 1. A faceless YouTube channel · Vertical video.
Cost, plainly
Ten minutes is 600 seconds of video: that many seconds at 10 credits a second on the default tier, plus 1 credit a second to join, plus a little for retakes. A series of ten 90-second episodes from a 30,000-character novel comes to about 10,026 credits, about $62 at the lowest credit price. Spending fewer credits.

In SceneMixer vs. stitching tools together
Most AI drama workflows are five or six tools in a row. This is where each step happens here, and what it replaces.
| Step | In SceneMixer | Doing it by hand with separate tools |
|---|---|---|
| Script and episode plan | Paste a script or a novel, or type one line: it is read into a cast, locations, props and an episode outline you can edit | A chat model writes the script; you split it into episodes and carry the text from tool to tool |
| Character faces and places | Every character, location and prop is drawn once as a reference sheet and attached to every shot it appears in | An image model, one sheet at a time; you upload the right reference to every clip yourself |
| Shots | A storyboard per episode with numbered shots and seconds; video is generated segment by segment in 9:16 or 16:9 against the same sheets | A video model, one clip per prompt, describing the same people again each time |
| Voices and dialogue | Lines are performed in the video itself, one voice per character, in any of 15 languages | A text-to-speech tool for each line, then a lip-sync pass on every clip |
| Fixing one shot | Edit that shot's text and regenerate the segment alone; the rest of the episode is untouched | Regenerate the clip, then re-cut the timeline |
| Finishing | Segments are composited into one episode file with its score; members download without the AI badge | A video editor to join the clips, add music and captions, then export |
| Publishing | You upload the finished episode to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram or anywhere else; nothing is posted for you | Upload by hand, the same as here |

Can I make a 10 minute story video?
Yes: 20 to 40 segments, as one TV Series episode of up to 300 seconds plus another, or as a Film sequence.
Does the character look the same all the way through?
Yes. Each character is drawn once and used for every segment of every episode.
How much does a long story video cost?
Finished seconds at 10 credits a second on the default tier plus 1 credit a second to join.
Can I make it free?
Reading, the first 15 setup images, the first storyboard and a 5-second preview are free; the video is paid.
Can I post it on YouTube?
Yes. Choose 16:9 Landscape in Step 1. Members can turn the corner mark off in downloaded files; a shared link always carries it.
Can I add voice-over?
