Generate AI Video: What Happens After You Press the Button

Quick answer: Generating an AI video is a purchase with a delay. You press once, the price is held, and typically ten to twenty minutes later the credits either become a charge for a clip or come back. In between, a clip can wait in your queue, run, fail, or be blocked, and each of those settles the credits differently. This page follows the button from both sides: what you can press (one segment or Generate all), what the card says at each state, how many run at once on each plan, and a table of what you are charged in nine situations, so that a failed card does not turn into a support ticket.

Try it: open an episode with two or three finished segments and read the status on each timeline card. Then look at the price on a segment with no clip, and at the total on Generate all. The first number is one purchase, the second is a batch of them.

Two ways to press

One segment. The Generate button on a segment shows its price. Pressing it holds that amount and starts a clip at the tier selected in the top bar. Generate all. In the editor’s top bar, next to Composite, it appears while some segments have no clip. It shows a total; a dialog lists how many segments will be generated, their seconds in total and the model.

Generate all submits every segment that has storyboard text and no clip, in timeline order, one at a time, each charged at its own price. It leaves alone segments that already have a clip, so it never pays twice for the same segment, and skips those already generating or waiting. Segments longer than the selected tier allows are left out and named. Before submitting anything it checks your balance against the total; if it does not cover the batch, the buy-credits window opens and nothing is submitted. Stop here halts submission; segments already sent carry on. Generate all segments of an episode at once.

How many run at once

Each account runs a fixed number of generations at the same time. The rest wait with their credits held and start by themselves, in the order you pressed. The number counts every kind of generation, not just video: segments, sheets, storyboards and joins.

A plan changes how many run together, never how long one takes. Queued is your own line, and clears by itself. Busy is the provider’s line: the request was refused and its credits returned, and it will not restart by itself. You press Retry. Generating many segments at once.

A safe order for a batch

1. Use the free preview if you still have it: one shot of up to 5 seconds at the lowest tier, with your own cast. 2. Generate one segment on the lowest tier and watch it with sound, checking the face, the room and the voice. 3. Generate all on the same tier once that one is right; six segments run blind from a wrong first shot are six regenerations. 4. Fix single shots by editing their text and regenerating only those. 5. Finish the keepers on a higher tier, then join. Draft low, finish high · A checklist before you generate.

While a clip renders you can edit the storyboard text of that segment; the edit is saved and the running generation is unaffected, so the next regeneration uses the new text. A segment that is still generating cannot be deleted, and an episode whose storyboard is being written refuses video until the storyboard lands.

What generation does not promise

A generation is probabilistic: two identical requests can give two different clips, and the terms do not guarantee any single result. What you are promised is the money side. The price on the button is the amount held, the amount taken comes from the same calculation, and a clip you did not receive is not billed.

FAQ

How long does it take to generate an AI video?

A segment typically takes ten to twenty minutes on every plan. A 60-second episode is at least four segments, so how long the whole episode takes depends on how many run at once.

What does Generate all do?

It submits every segment that has storyboard text and no clip, in timeline order, at the tier in the top bar. It skips segments that already have a clip and checks your balance before sending anything.

Am I charged if generation fails?

Not for a request the model never received, a busy provider that stayed busy, or a clip blocked by content rules. A timeout or delivery failure is held for review rather than charged or returned.

Can I stop a video that is generating?

No. A clip runs to the end and lands as a new version of the segment. Text jobs such as the read and the storyboard have a Stop button.

Why does my clip say Queued?

You started more generations than your plan runs at once. The extras hold their credits and start by themselves as others finish.

Does a paid plan generate faster?

No. It runs more of your generations together. One segment takes the same time on every plan.

What if I close the page?

The job continues on the server. Reopen the episode and the card shows the current state.

What should I do when a batch all fails?

Read one card. If every card shows the same message, the cause is shared, such as a busy tier or an unusable reference, and fixing that one thing fixes the batch.

Press once, then read the card

Every state tells you what happened to your credits.
