Stopping a Generation: What Can Be Stopped, and What Comes Back

Quick answer: A Stop button appears while text is being written: AI Create, the script parse in Step 1, and an episode’s storyboard in Step 3. Press it and confirm. If the job had not been sent to the model yet, the held credits come back; if it had, they are spent, and the confirmation says so before you press. A video clip that is generating has no Stop: it runs to the end and lands as a new version of the segment, which you can ignore or replace. Deleting an episode or project refunds the work that had not reached the model; what happens to work already sent is below.

What can be stopped

AI Create, in its writing window. The script parse, in Step 1 while the script is being read. An episode’s storyboard, on the episode card in Step 3. Each shows a small Stop button while the text streams in. Pressing it asks Stop this? with a sentence worth reading: credits already spent are not refunded, because the request has already gone to the model; stopping just frees the screen so you can start over.

A segment generating on the timeline has no Stop button: it runs to the end and lands as a new version.

What comes back

Not yet sent to the model. The job was still queued, or had started but had not called the model yet. Stop, and the held credits return to your balance.

Already sent. The model was writing. Stop, and those credits are spent; what you get is a free screen to edit and run again.

The line between the two is not visible from the screen, which is why the confirmation warns you every time. If the job had in fact just finished, Stop says it could not stop it, and the result is yours.

A clip cannot be stopped

Once you press generate on a segment, the clip runs to the end. If you spotted a mistake in the storyboard after pressing generate, edit the text while it renders; the edit is saved and the running generation is unaffected. When the clip lands, it becomes a new version; regenerate from the new text if you need to. You pay for two clips instead of one, but you keep both.

Deleting while generating

A segment whose video is still generating cannot be deleted; wait for it to finish. Deleting a whole episode or project while videos generate is allowed: work that had not started, or had not reached the model yet, is refunded. Work already sent is charged if you delete an episode; if you delete a project, clips already sent are settled by what the provider reports (charged if delivered, refunded if it confirms a failure), and other work already sent is held for review. FAQ

I stopped a storyboard. Where are my credits?

If it had not been sent to the model yet, back in your balance. If it had, spent — the confirmation says so before you press it.

Why is there no Stop on a generating clip?

A clip is paid for by the rendering itself; it runs to the end and lands as a version you can keep or ignore.

Can I edit the storyboard while a segment generates?

Yes. The running generation uses the text it started with; your edit is saved for the next one.

Can I delete a segment that is generating?

No. Wait for it to finish, then delete.

What happens if I delete the project while videos are generating?

Work that had not started, or had not reached the model, is refunded. Clips already sent are settled by what the provider reports: charged if delivered, refunded if it confirms a failure. Other work already sent is held for review.

Let it finish, then decide

A finished clip costs nothing to keep in Version History. Regenerate only what you need.
