Generating Many Segments at Once: How Many Run Together, What “Queued” Means, Why Some Fail

Quick answer: Your account runs a limited number of generations at the same time — 3 on the free plan, 5 on Pro, more on the higher plans. Press generate on more segments than that and the extra ones say Queued: they hold their credits and start automatically as running ones finish. When the balance runs short part-way, pressing generate on the next segment opens the buy-credits window instead and that segment is not submitted. When a whole batch fails, the provider refused the requests for one shared reason, and each card says which.

Select three segments, press generate on each, then a fourth: the fourth shows Queued until one of the first three finishes.

What you see on the timeline

Each segment you start goes Generating until the account’s limit is reached; after that new ones show Queued. Queued segments have their credits held and start on their own, in the order you pressed, as slots free up. You can leave the page; the queue keeps draining. A few cards say Generating, the rest say Queued; they start as the running ones finish.

How many run at once

The limit is per account and depends on your plan: 3 on Free, 5 on Pro, 8 on Studio, 10 on Enterprise. It counts every generation — video segments, sheets, storyboards, composites — not just video. A busy provider can add wait on top; see Why a Generation Takes Time.

When the balance runs short part-way

Each segment holds its credits the moment you press generate on it. When the balance cannot cover the next one, the buy-credits window opens instead and shows how much you are short; that segment is not submitted and holds nothing. Top up and press generate on it; the segments already running or queued are unaffected and nothing is charged twice. The same thing in Step 2.

When the whole batch fails: the provider

If all of them show the same provider message — busy, invalid input, moderation — the cause is shared: the same tier was busy, the same reference was unusable, or the same character sheet was blocked. Read one card; fixing that one thing fixes the batch. A busy provider’s refusal is refunded automatically; a moderation block is refunded up to 12 blocks a day per account, and past that held for review. Your credit history shows which. When a Generation Fails and Invalid Input.

A sensible batch

Generate the first segment alone, check the faces and the room, then start the rest. Six segments generated blind from a first shot that was wrong are six regenerations. Order matters too: segments that carry over from the previous one look better when the previous one already exists.

FAQ

Is 'Queued' a failure?

No. It is waiting for a slot and starts by itself. Its credits are held, not lost.

Can I skip the queue?

A higher plan raises the limit. Otherwise wait for a running one to finish.

Do queued segments cost extra?

No. Same price as any segment, held while they wait.

I closed the tab. Did the queue stop?

No. Queued and running generations continue on the server.

Why did only some start immediately?

The limit was reached; the rest queued.

One first, then the batch

Check the first segment, then let the queue do the rest.
