Making the Next Episode: When It Is Already in Your Script, and When the Story Goes On

Quick answer: There are two kinds of “next episode”. If your script already contains it, it is waiting in step 3: open that episode, press Parse Storyboard, then generate its segments in the editor. If the story ends where your script ends, the next part is a new project: a project that has been read cannot take new episodes at the end. Write or paste the continuation, start a new project with it, and bring the same characters across with Pick existing in step 2, so faces and voices match the first part.

Open your project and go to step 3, Episode Videos: every episode the reading found has its own card, numbered in order.

Episodes already in your script

The reading splits your script into episodes once, at the start. All of them are listed in step 3, each on its own card with its title, its characters and scenes, and its own Parse Storyboard button. Episode 2 is made the same way as episode 1: parse its storyboard, press Start Editing, generate the segments, composite. You do not have to finish one episode before starting the next. Generate the storyboard for an episode · Reading the episode cards.

With a long script, later episodes may show Preparing… for a while after the reading; they become ready on their own.

Why you cannot add episodes to a finished reading

The number of episodes is set when the script is read, from the script itself. There is no button to append an episode to a project afterwards, and the whole project cannot be read again on the website. This is how the site works, not a fault. If you want a different split of the same script, start a new project with it.

Continuing the story in a new project

  1. Write the next part of the story, or let AI Create write it from a short brief that recaps where the story stands.
  2. Start a new project with that text and choose the same visual style, scene style and costume style as the first part.
  3. In step 2, open each returning character and press Pick existing: choose the character from your first project. The sheet is copied across, and for characters you can copy the voice too.
  4. Check that names match the first part. A character the new script calls by a nickname becomes a new entry; rename it or pick the existing one.

Reuse a character, scene or voice across projects.

Keeping the second part consistent with the first

Copied sheets carry the faces and costumes across. Scenes can be copied the same way, so a house in season 1 is the same house in season 2. Generate a test segment early in the new project and compare it with the first part before generating everything. Why a whole series stays consistent.

Joining the parts into one video

Each episode is composited on its own, once every segment in it has a clip. To watch two projects as one film, download each episode and join the files in any video editor. Which segments a composite joins.

FAQ

Can I add an episode to a project I already parsed?

No. Continue in a new project that reuses the cast with Pick existing.

Can I merge the second part into the first project?

No. Projects stay separate; their episodes can be joined after download.

Is the second project charged again?

Yes. It is read and generated like any project, at the prices on the pricing page.

Does copying a character cost credits?

No. Pick existing copies the sheet, and the voice if you choose, without a charge.

My next episode says Preparing. Is it stuck?

Long scripts finish preparing later episodes on their own after the reading. Open another episode meanwhile.
