Compositing an Episode: Which Segments Are Joined, What Happens to Segments Without a Clip, and the Price

Quick answer: Composite joins the segments of the episode in timeline order, taking each segment’s active version, into one file. Every segment needs a clip first: the dialog tells you how many are done. It costs 1 credit per second of the episode’s total length and can be run again after you regenerate segments; each composite is kept as its own record. To leave a segment out, delete it or turn it into something you want — there is no hide switch.

Press Composite on an episode with one segment still ungenerated: the dialog shows how many segments are done instead of starting.

What gets joined

The active version of each segment, in the order of the timeline, cut hard together. Sound and dialogue come with the segments; nothing is re-rendered, so the composite is quick and its price is small. One composite at a time per episode: a second press while one is running is refused until it finishes. How the result is delivered and shared: Composite and Share an Episode.

The episode timeline: every segment as a card with its thumbnail and duration
The composite button sits above the timeline; the record of every composite is listed under the preview.

Segments without a clip

A segment that has never been generated, or whose only versions failed, blocks the composite; the dialog shows how many segments are done, so check the cards to find it. Generate it, or delete it if the episode reads fine without it. A segment that is generating at the moment also blocks; wait for it. Deleting a segment removes its versions and does not refund its generations: Insert or Delete a Segment.

Leaving a segment out on purpose

There is no per-segment hide switch. If a segment should not appear, delete it (the storyboard text is lost with it — copy it first if you want it back later) or rewrite it into a shot you do want and generate that.

Price

1 credit per second of the finished episode, whatever tiers the segments used. A ninety-second episode costs ninety times that rate to composite. Recompositing after changing a segment is a new composite at the same rate. Where Your Credits Go in One Episode.

The file you get

The composite is an original-quality file, plus a lighter play version for the browser and the share page. Each segment carries the AI badge setting it was generated with; switching the badge off later does not remove it from segments already made, so regenerate those first if you want a clean file.
