What carries over, and what does not
| From your image tool | Carries over? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The character's face, hair, clothing | Yes, read into a reference sheet | Redrawn in the project's look |
| The exact art style of the image | Chosen from the project's looks instead | Pick the closest look in Step 1 |
| The background and pose | No, by default | Optimize drops them so they do not follow into every shot |
| Images of real people, celebrities, franchises | No | Refused by the IP check |

The route
- Write the story, or draft it with AI Create.
- In Step 2, press Upload & Replace on the character and choose Optimize into a reference sheet.
- Repeat for the other principals; draw the rest from text.
- Read the storyboard, render and join.
Use Use this image as is only for art you already drew as a full figure on a plain background.
Why a story tool, not another prompt
Re-prompting an image tool for the same character in each scene drifts. A reference sheet used for every shot does not. Consistent character video · AI actor generator · AI comic to video.

In SceneMixer vs. stitching tools together
Most AI drama workflows are five or six tools in a row. This is where each step happens here, and what it replaces.
| Step | In SceneMixer | Doing it by hand with separate tools |
|---|---|---|
| Script and episode plan | Paste a script or a novel, or type one line: it is read into a cast, locations, props and an episode outline you can edit | A chat model writes the script; you split it into episodes and carry the text from tool to tool |
| Character faces and places | Every character, location and prop is drawn once as a reference sheet and attached to every shot it appears in | An image model, one sheet at a time; you upload the right reference to every clip yourself |
| Shots | A storyboard per episode with numbered shots and seconds; video is generated segment by segment in 9:16 or 16:9 against the same sheets | A video model, one clip per prompt, describing the same people again each time |
| Voices and dialogue | Lines are performed in the video itself, one voice per character, in any of 15 languages | A text-to-speech tool for each line, then a lip-sync pass on every clip |
| Fixing one shot | Edit that shot's text and regenerate the segment alone; the rest of the episode is untouched | Regenerate the clip, then re-cut the timeline |
| Finishing | Segments are composited into one episode file with its score; members download without the AI badge | A video editor to join the clips, add music and captions, then export |
| Publishing | You upload the finished episode to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram or anywhere else; nothing is posted for you | Upload by hand, the same as here |
FAQ
Can I turn Midjourney images into a video?
You can use an image of a character as a reference (members) and build a story around it; scenes are generated from a script, not by animating the image.
Is it free to upload?
Uploading a reference is a membership feature on the current plan settings.
Will the style match my image?
The face, hair and clothing carry over; the art style is chosen from the project's looks.
Can I upload a celebrity image?
No. Celebrity, brand and franchise images are refused.
What formats work?
JPEG, PNG and other common formats; SVG is not accepted.
Do the characters talk?
Yes, in any of 15 languages.
How much does the video cost?
Video is 10 credits a second on the default tier plus 1 credit a second to join.
