AI Create: Why Some Lengths Are Missing From the Menu, and What Happens If the Script Comes Out Too Long

Quick answer: AI Create writes to a target length and the result is parsed like any pasted script, so it has to fit the parse limit. The menu therefore only offers targets that will fit for your writing language: a Chinese script is counted in characters, an English one in words converted to characters, and alphabetic languages count lighter, so the same menu shows different options. If a draft still runs over the limit, the task fails, no project is created, and the writing charge is refunded. Pick the next length down, or write in parts and parse them as volumes.

Switch the interface language and open AI Create: the length menu changes with it because the count unit changed.

What the length menu shows

Targets from a short episode up to the largest that fits: the cap on a single parse (30000 characters by default; the two-pass read for long scripts does not raise it for AI Create) divided by the expected size of a finished script at each target. Targets that would overflow are simply not listed. Choosing a length: Choosing Script Length and Cost.

The length menu lists only targets whose finished script would still fit the parse cap for your writing language.

Why it differs by language

Chinese counts one character as one. English and other alphabetic languages count roughly three characters as one for the limit and the price, because an English sentence is longer in characters than the same sentence in Chinese; Japanese and Korean count like Chinese. The target itself is given to the writer in that language’s natural unit (characters or words). Length Caps and How Characters Count.

When the draft runs over

Writers do not hit a target exactly. A draft that comes out above the cap is refused at the end of writing: the task fails with a message, no project is created, and the writing credits are refunded. Choose a smaller target, or ask for the story in two parts and parse each as its own volume.

Writing in your language

AI Create writes in your interface language and is priced by that language’s unit. The finished script is parsed into the project’s working text; the dialogue language is chosen in Step 1 as usual. Write the Script in Your Language.

Ads

Ad scripts are short by design and never approach the limit; their length is set by the ad’s duration, not by this menu.

FAQ

The menu used to have a longer option.

Your interface language changed, or the cap did; the menu follows both.

Was I charged when the draft ran over?

No. The writing charge is refunded when the draft is refused.

Can I write a full novel?

In parts: write and parse each volume as a project or an episode range.

Does the target count dialogue?

Yes; the whole script text counts.

Why is English 'cheaper' per character?

Because it takes more characters to say the same thing; the factor keeps the price about equal per story.
