Original vs play version explains which file you download after a 1080P render.
Two places, one setting. In the episode editor: the button in the top bar that shows the current tier’s name, next to Composite. In Settings: Model Preferences → Video Model. Both change the same thing — the tier your next segments render on, in this project and in new ones. Segments already made keep the tier they were made with, and each version records it. The price on a segment’s generate button always shows the tier you are about to use.
Room. A wide shot keeps faces in the background readable; a slow push-in does not fall apart as it gets close; embroidery, rain, dust and skin texture survive. It matters most on a television, a projector, a desktop player, and in any edit where you will crop or reframe later. On a phone held at arm’s length the difference from 720P is small, which is the honest reason this tier is not the default.
Everything else is the family standard: up to 30 seconds per generation, 16:9 or 9:16, dialogue and ambient sound in the same render, every version kept.
Same slots as the rest of the family:
38 credits per second, against 10 at 480P and 19 at 720P. A 30-second take is 30 × 38. The arithmetic argues for discipline: get the segment right cheaply, then pay this rate once. Credits are taken on delivery; if a generation fails, the credits come back or are held until support checks it.
A finished 1080P segment has two files. The original is what you download and what the episode composite is built from. The play version is a lighter copy the in-page player and share links use so a phone on a slow connection does not stall; it is the same resolution, compressed harder. If a 1080P clip looks softer in the browser than you expect, download the original before judging it.
Text and references are checked before rendering. A rejection is not charged: the credits come back and the credit history says so. The count is kept per account: after 12 rejections within 24 hours, the next one is held for review instead of refunded, and video generation pauses for 1 hour. So edit the flagged material rather than retrying the same segment. Content rules and checks explains what gets flagged.
The messages you may meet on this tier:
| What you see | Usual cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “Invalid input — check the reference images and duration, then retry.” | Usually one of the reference files for this segment could not be read | Generate again once; if it keeps failing, check that the character, location and prop images open, then contact support |
| “Blocked by content safety rules — edit the script or description and retry.” | The script or a reference tripped the content check | Edit the flagged part; see the content-check section for when a rejection is refunded |
| “The generation service hit a temporary problem. You weren’t charged — feel free to try again.” | The service was saturated; the site already tried again once for you | Wait a few minutes and generate again; nothing was deducted |
| Video generation paused | More than 12 rejected generations within 24 hours; the next one is held for review | Wait out the pause (1 hour); fix the material before retrying |
While the storyboard is still moving; for a vertical clip that will only ever be watched on phones; for a segment whose problem is blocking or dialogue rather than detail. In those cases 480P shows you the same thing for a fraction of the credits, and 720P is the sharing tier. Come here for the final version of a segment that already works.
| Reference type | Limit on this tier | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Images | Up to 10 | Character sheets, location and prop images, states, your own uploads |
| Voice clips | Up to 5, about 14 s in total | Character voices; a clip that does not fit is left out and that character speaks from the written voice description |
Among the Wan tiers, yes. MiniMax H3 offers a 2K render with its own reference rules and 15-second segments.
Usually somewhat longer than 480P for the same seconds.
On a paid plan, new renders come without the badge by default, and you can choose to keep it. The download is the full-quality file.
No. Regenerate only the segments you keep; the composite uses each segment’s active version whatever its tier.
Yes, on this family: up to 30 seconds per segment.
Take a segment you have already approved at a lower tier and render the version you will publish.
