AI Movie Making

Movie, film, video: the words do not matter, the length does
People search for AI movie making, film making and video making and mean the same thing: a story with characters who stay the same from the first shot to the last. What changes the work is the length. On the default tier these are the sizes, using the same arithmetic as the long video page:
| Movie length | Segments of 15 s | Segments of 30 s | A fair name for it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 minute | 4 | 2 | A teaser or an ad |
| 5 minutes | 20 | 10 | A short film, one episode |
| 10 minutes | 40 | 20 | A short film with a second act |
| 30 minutes | 120 | 60 | A series of episodes or sequences, not one file |
The five moves
- Write it small. One setting, two or three characters, one turn. If you have nothing yet, type one line in AI Create and read what it drafts. Write in your own language.
- Pick the look and the length. Step 1: type (Short Drama, TV Series or Film), 9:16 or 16:9, a look, a region and the dialogue language. Choosing the settings.
- Check the cast and the places. Step 2 draws every character, location and prop once. Fix a face here, not in shot forty. The first 15 images on an account are free.
- Read the storyboard. It is numbered shots in plain text. Rewrite anything that is wrong; editing is free. The first episode's storyboard on your first drama is free.
- Generate, then join. Segments render on their own and can be queued together; when they are done, join them at 1 credit a second. Compositing an episode.
What a first movie costs, and where it goes
Almost all of it is video: 10 credits a second on the default tier, about $0.06 a second at the lowest credit price. A 3-minute movie is a hundred and eighty of those seconds plus the join. Reading the script is 4 credits per 1,000 characters, English counted lighter, and storyboard editing is free. New accounts start with 50 credits and can preview about 5 seconds before spending. Mistakes a first movie makes
- Starting too big. A 20-minute plan for a first try. Make a 2-minute version and learn what the storyboard does.
- Too many people. Every extra character is another sheet to approve. Two or three carry a short movie.
- Skipping the storyboard. The video is the expensive part; the storyboard is the free one. Read it like a screenplay and cut what you would not shoot.
- Fixing in the wrong place. A wrong face is a Step 2 problem; a wrong line is a storyboard problem; a wrong move in one shot is a single regeneration.

In SceneMixer vs. stitching tools together
Most AI drama workflows are five or six tools in a row. This is where each step happens here, and what it replaces.
| Step | In SceneMixer | Doing it by hand with separate tools |
|---|---|---|
| Script and episode plan | Paste a script or a novel, or type one line: it is read into a cast, locations, props and an episode outline you can edit | A chat model writes the script; you split it into episodes and carry the text from tool to tool |
| Character faces and places | Every character, location and prop is drawn once as a reference sheet and attached to every shot it appears in | An image model, one sheet at a time; you upload the right reference to every clip yourself |
| Shots | A storyboard per episode with numbered shots and seconds; video is generated segment by segment in 9:16 or 16:9 against the same sheets | A video model, one clip per prompt, describing the same people again each time |
| Voices and dialogue | Lines are performed in the video itself, one voice per character, in any of 15 languages | A text-to-speech tool for each line, then a lip-sync pass on every clip |
| Fixing one shot | Edit that shot's text and regenerate the segment alone; the rest of the episode is untouched | Regenerate the clip, then re-cut the timeline |
| Finishing | Segments are composited into one episode file with its score; members download without the AI badge | A video editor to join the clips, add music and captions, then export |
| Publishing | You upload the finished episode to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram or anywhere else; nothing is posted for you | Upload by hand, the same as here |
FAQ
How do I make a movie with AI?
Write or generate a short script, set the type, format and look in Step 1, check the cast and places in Step 2, read the storyboard, then generate the segments and join them.
How long can an AI movie be?
Each segment is up to 15 or 30 seconds and an episode or sequence holds up to 60 segments. The Film type has no hard cap, so longer movies are several sequences.
How much does an AI movie cost?
Video is 10 credits a second on the default tier plus 1 credit a second to join. A 3-minute movie is 180 seconds of that; reading and setup are small by comparison.
Can I make one for free?
You can read the script, draw the first 15 setup images, get the first storyboard and a 5-second preview free. The video itself is paid.
Do the characters talk?
Yes. Each character has a voice and speaks in the video, in any of 15 languages.
Can I make it vertical?
Yes. Choose 9:16 Portrait in Step 1 for a phone-first movie, or 16:9 Landscape.
What if I do not have a script?
Type a one-line idea in AI Create and it drafts the script and episodes; you edit before anything is rendered.
Make a two-minute movie first
Everything before the video is free or small. Read the storyboard, then render.
