The notes under a storyboard segment, and what to do about each

Quick answer: Under a segment’s storyboard text, above the buttons (Edit, AI edit, History, Insert), the editor can show up to six one-line notes. Three of them ask for an image before the video will be right — no character image yet, crowd image not generated, and state images not generated; only the last of those stops the video. Three are information: Video edited, In frame, and Shot N is somewhere else, which does stop the video. Nothing on this page costs credits just by being shown; every button on it shows its price first.

Time and weather are shown in the header above the shots, not here: the segment header.

Where the notes are

Open an episode and select a segment. The storyboard card shows the header and the numbered shots; right under the text, in a thin strip, come the notes. If nothing is wrong there is no strip at all. A note disappears by itself once its cause is fixed — for images, as soon as the picture has been drawn.

The State images, In frame, Video edited and Shot N is somewhere else notes belong to the current storyboard layout and do not appear on older segments or in ad and remake projects. The no character image and crowd image notes can appear on any segment. Which layout is mine?

No character image yet

In this segment but no character image yet: Mara, Leo. The video can only go by the text description, so the face won’t match the character.

A character who is in the picture has no image to copy. The usual causes: the reading judged them “voice only” and the batch skipped them; they were added by a later episode; or their image failed and nobody retried. The video can still be made, but it will invent a face from the words. Press Generate images: it opens step 2, where the price, the free allowance and the member gates are all shown. Nothing is generated from the note itself. Leads, supporting and voice-only characters · Face changed? Checklist.

Crowd image not generated

This segment declares a background crowd, but the crowd reference image for its scene has not been generated yet. with a Generate crowd image button and a price tag.

A scene that has a crowd in it gets a second reference picture, the scene with people in it. Until it exists the video falls back to the empty scene plus the words, so the crowd may be thin or missing. It is a suggestion, not a block. The button uses the same generator and the same free allowance as step 2; once the picture lands, the note goes away on its own. Background people in a scene.

State images not generated

This segment needs state images that haven’t been generated yet. Generate them before making the video: followed by the list, each with a price and a generate button.

A state is a character’s or scene’s other look: the torn coat, the night version of the room. When the segment uses a state that has no picture yet, the video would have nothing to copy, so it is refused with These state images haven’t been generated yet: … Generate them in the asset’s states first — no credits were charged. Generate the listed images (they run through the same generator and the same small state-image allowance as step 2) and press Generate again. Use a character state in one scene · State image messages.

A state needs its character’s main image first; if the main image is still being drawn, the list waits for it.

Video edited

Video edited — The storyboard text wasn’t changed — later segments continue from the edited video.

This note means the segment’s current clip was trimmed with Trim or changed with AI visuals. What you see no longer matches the storyboard text word for word, and that is on purpose: the next segments carry on from what is on screen, not from the text. A new voice (redub) or a quality enhancement does not trigger it, and switching back to the original take removes it. Edit this clip.

Shot N is somewhere else

The one note that also blocks the video. A segment is one place and one timeline; a shot that cuts to another place or time has to be rewritten or moved to its own segment. The full guide.

In frame

In frame · Shot 1 Mara, Leo · Shot 2 Mara · Shot 3 Leo

For each shot, who the video will show, worked out from where everyone is in the room, how wide the shot is and who it is on. It appears when the scene has been built as a 360° room, and it is the same list the video is generated from, so it is the place to catch a shot that will show the wrong person. If a name is missing, make the shot’s subject clearer in the text: say who it is on, and how wide. If a name is there that should not be, make the shot tighter. A dash means nobody named is in that shot. Who is in frame · The 360° room.

FAQ

Where are the notes under a segment?

Right under the storyboard text of the selected segment, above the Edit and AI edit buttons. If nothing is wrong, there is no strip.

Which notes stop me from generating the video?

Two: state images that have not been generated, and a shot that is somewhere else. The others are information or a suggestion.

Does a note cost credits?

No. Showing a note is free. A button on a note shows its price before it does anything, and the generate buttons use the same allowance as step 2.

The note will not go away.

It goes when its cause is gone: the image is drawn, the shot is rewritten, the clip is switched back to the original. For images, wait for the picture to land; the note checks again by itself.

Why is my character flagged with no image when I generated everything?

A character added after you generated, a character first read as voice only, or an image that failed. Press Generate images to go to step 2.

What does Video edited do to later segments?

They continue from the edited clip. Redub and quality enhancement do not count; switching back to the original removes the note.

Why does In frame not show on my segment?

It needs a segment in the current layout and a scene built as a 360° room. Older segments, ads and remakes do not show it.

Can I hide the notes?

No, but every one of them goes away once you do what it says.

Read the strip before you generate.

It is the cheapest place to catch a missing image or a shot in the wrong place.
