Etsy product video size

Quick answer: Etsy's help page for listing videos (read November 2, 2026) says: up to two videos per listing, each 3 to 15 seconds, up to 100 MB, with no audio once uploaded; the minimum resolution is 500 pixels and Etsy suggests at least 1080. The same page words the aspect ratio as 2:1 or 1:2, which is neither of SceneMixer's shapes, so test one upload. The clip that fits best is one 15-second segment taken straight from the editor rather than the finished ad, because the ad adds an end card and runs a few seconds over 15, and because the sound will be stripped anyway.

Why a 15-second ad is not quite a listing video

An ad project makes one, two or four 15-second segments and then joins them with an end card of a few seconds, so even the shortest finished ad runs a little over Etsy's 15 seconds. The end card carries a brand, a tagline and Shop now, which is an ad's closing line, not a product demonstration. And because Etsy strips the audio, the two to four spoken lines the ad writes, and its score, are lost.

So take the clip, not the cut. Each 15-second segment is its own clip in the editor: open the finished ad, select the segment, press Download under the player, and you have a 15-second file with no end card. If it is longer than you want, Edit this clip then Trim cuts the start or the end without regenerating (the price shows on the Save button). Make a clip that works without sound

With no audio, the picture has to explain itself. Ask for it in the one line and in the tone:

  • Show how it works for anything that opens, pours, folds or lights; Mouth-watering close-ups for food and drink; Minimal for a design object.
  • Say what the buyer wants to see: the scale (fits in one hand), the lid coming off, the item in use.
  • Ignore the dialogue. It will not be heard; do not rely on a spoken line to carry a fact, put it in the listing text.
  • Mind the corner label. On a free account every downloaded video carries a small AI label in the corner; a paid membership turns it off by default. The AI label switch.

The product is redrawn from your photo as a clean studio shot, with its shape, colour, material and labels kept, and used in every scene; people holding it are generated. An ad for a physical product · Which photos work.

Which tone for which Etsy category

Etsy's handbook gives category tips for listing videos (end on the finished item, show scale and materials, show wear on vintage). Here is how they line up with the ad tones:

Etsy categoryWhat Etsy suggests, in shortTone and photos
Home and livingShow how it works, scale and materials; end on the finished itemShow how it works; first photo the item on a plain surface, extra photos in use
Bath and beautyIngredients, the item in use, end on the finished productShow how it works or Mouth-watering close-ups; a texture photo as an extra
Jewellery and accessoriesOn a model, for movement and scaleMinimal or Warm; the piece alone first, a worn photo second
Clothing and shoesOn-model movement, a close-up of the fabricA day in the life; the garment flat or on a hanger first

Where an AI clip is the wrong tool

An AI render shows a redrawn product and a generated person; it cannot show the real wear on a vintage piece, the true size of a handmade object next to your hand, or the actual texture of one-of-a-kind work. Etsy's handbook says a vintage listing video should show signs of wear, and a render will not. For those items film the real thing; use an AI clip as a second video for scale and styling. Etsy allows two.

Make it in SceneMixer, start to finish

  1. Photos: open the Ad Video tab and upload one to four photos of the same subject. The read is free and tells you what it saw: category, product name, any brand name legible on the label.
  2. One line: say what it is and who it is for. When the line and the photo disagree, the line wins.
  3. Pickers: vibe, length (15, 30 or 60 seconds), portrait or landscape, 480P / 720P / 1080P. The price beside the quality is the ceiling you will pay.
  4. Make my ad: the script, cast, locations and storyboard are written, every segment is generated with its sound, and the end card carries your brand, product name, tagline and call to action.
  5. Fix, then export: a shot that missed can be regenerated alone; the end card text can be edited and the cut rebuilt without reshooting. The ad progress page.

FAQ

What size should an Etsy product video be?

Etsy's help page says 3 to 15 seconds, up to 100 MB, minimum 500 pixels with at least 1080 suggested, and no audio once uploaded. Read the page again before you export.

How long can an Etsy listing video be?

Etsy's help page says 3 to 15 seconds, and its Seller Handbook says longer videos are clipped.

Does an Etsy video need sound?

No. The help page says the video will not contain any audio once uploaded to your listing.

How many videos can I add to a listing?

Up to two per listing, according to the help page.

What aspect ratio does Etsy want?

The help page words it as 2:1 or 1:2. SceneMixer makes 16:9 and 9:16, so test one upload and check how Etsy frames it.

Can I make an Etsy product video with AI?

Yes: upload one to four photos of the item, pick Show how it works and 15 seconds, then download one segment, which has no end card.

Why not use the finished ad?

The finished ad ends on an end card of a few seconds, so it runs a little over 15 seconds, and Etsy removes the sound anyway.

Will the product in the video match my photo?

The product is redrawn from your photo as a studio shot with its shape, colour, material and labels kept; check it against the real item before you post.

What does it cost?

An ad is quoted as one figure before it starts and that figure is a ceiling; length and quality set it. A 15-second ad on the default tier is the cheapest length.
