A VEED Alternative for AI Drama Series

Updated November 2, 2026

Quick answer: VEED is a browser video editor with a generative studio: its AI video generator lets you switch between several models — it lists Seedance 2.5, Veo 3, Kling, Hailuo 2.3 and its own Fabric 1.0 for talking videos up to 60 seconds — then add voiceovers, captions, dubbing and your branding in the same editor. SceneMixer builds a whole drama from a script: an episode outline, a cast drawn once, a storyboard per episode and video segment by segment, with characters performing their lines on screen in 15 languages. Choose VEED to generate clips and finish them in an editor with captions, avatars and translation; choose SceneMixer to produce a series with a fixed cast.

VEED's plans are sized in credits — its Creator plan lists 6,000 credits (about 1,500 AI videos) and its Pro plan 30,000 — and each model uses a different number of credits12. SceneMixer's unit is the project: every sheet, storyboard and segment belongs to one story.

Stay with VEED if…

  • You edit video in the browser — captions, trimming, brand kits and AI generation in one editor12.
  • You want to switch between video models shot by shot inside the same project2.
  • You make talking-head or UGC-style videos — Fabric 1.0 and AI avatars are built for them2.
  • You translate or dub existing videos — Pro lists 50+ languages and the AI video page lists dubbing12.

SceneMixer fits if…

  • You are telling a story in episodes. One read of the script returns the cast, locations, props and an episode-by-episode outline with an end-of-episode hook; each episode gets its own storyboard. Upload a script and read it.
  • The same faces must hold from shot to shot. Reference sheets ride along with every segment, linked by id rather than by name. How consistency works.
  • Your cast should speak a particular language. Pick it in step 1 and the lines are performed in that language as the shot renders — no dubbing pass. Native dialogue vs dubbing.
  • You are adapting one story for a market. The target region adapts names, casting and scenery for Western, East Asian, Southeast Asian or Latin American audiences. Relocate a story by region.
  • You want commercial rights from the first credit. Our terms give you ownership of the results, including commercial use, on free allowances too.

Moving a story over

  1. Bring the script — paste it or upload .txt, .docx or .md; prompts you wrote for single clips can become shots in the storyboard.
  2. Set the project in step 1: Type (Short Drama, TV Series or Film), aspect ratio, dialogue language and target region.
  3. Reuse character art you own. On a paid plan, upload it in place of a generated sheet; otherwise generate sheets — the first 15 on an account are free.
  4. Draft cheaply, finish the keepers. Generate at the lowest tier, then regenerate only the segments that will be seen most at a higher resolution. Draft at 480P, finish at 1080P.
