Open the credits page, pick a package and apply a code: the page tells you straight away whether it is valid.
On the credits page (Credits in the avatar menu), next to the package list, before you choose how to pay. The quick buy-credits window does not have a code field; open the full page if you have one. Membership orders do not take a code. How to buy credits.

A code can carry bonus credits, a percentage discount, or both. Percentage discounts, from a code and from a membership added together, are limited by one cap for the whole site; that cap is currently zero, so at the moment codes act through their bonus credits and the price you pay is the package price. The bonus arrives with the package’s credits when the payment lands.
Each code has a start and end date, a total number of uses and a maximum per account; some are limited to a minimum order amount or to credit purchases. The code is checked when you apply it and again when the order is created, so a code can run out between the two.
Not found or expired: a typo, or outside its dates; codes match exactly, including capitals. Used up: the total number of uses is reached. Already used: you have reached the per-account limit. Not for this order: the code is for another kind of purchase, or the order is below its minimum. If a code from us still fails, write to support with the code.
A use is counted when the order is created. If you cancel the order or let it expire unpaid, the use is released and the code can be used again. A paid order that is later refunded does not give the use back.
| Situation | Result |
|---|---|
| Valid code on a credit package | Bonus credits added with the package |
| Code outside its dates, or mistyped | Refused, nothing charged |
| Per-account limit reached | Refused |
| Order cancelled or expired unpaid | The use is released |
| Order paid, then refunded | The use is not released |
